First applauses of Figueira Film Art 2015

The CAE was home this monday night to the opening session of Figueira Film Art 2015. Luís Ferraz, Luís Albuquerque, Miguel Babo, Bruno Manique and Mário Pereira, members of the board of organization of the film festival, called out for the support of this event by everyone to reignite the cinephile passion in Praia da Claridade. Miguel Babo, a so called independent filmmaker, with small or null budgets compensated by daring, imagination and ability to mobilize efforts, reminded that “in these 110 there are also thousands of actors, technicians, screenwriters and directors”, among other amateurs. “To see their works until the end is the best way to pay respect to these people”, he assured. The representative of Culture, António Tavares, saluted the festival and emphasized the presence of many works which are a testimony to lusophony. “Come to see, invite your friends, and above all, have fun”, concluded the director of the festival, Luís Albuquerque, receiving with this the first applauses of what is the second edition of Figueira Film Art.
The opening session was followed by the screening of the film “Back Home”, by the Chinese director Zhang Yimou.
The tickets for Figueira Film Art 2015 are being sold in CAE for 4€ (day ticket) or 15€ (week ticket). Figueira Film Art 2015, organized by ConquistaPanorama, a nonprofit cultural association, has the support of the Figueira da Foz City Council, the Culture Division and CAE, the São Julião and Buarcos Council, Casino Figueira, Casa Havanesa, Olaias Restaurante Caffe, Sweet Atlantic Hotel, and Antena 3.
