Description
Figueira Film Art, Festival de Cinema da Figueira da Foz, is an independent film festival. It is committed and dedicated to the showcase of both emerging and established, national and international filmmakers’ work, within the world of independent cinema. The organization committee is proud of its inheritance- “Festival Internacional de Cinema da Figueira da Foz” (1972-2002) keeping its independence and ethics in the official film selection.
Rules and Terms
Films must be completed from 1 January 2016 onward, whatever the genres.
The duration of submitted works must meet the following criteria:
Feature and Documentary – more than 60 minutes;
Short Film(feature and documentary) – under 60 minutes;
Video Clip –under 5 minutes;
Schools – no length restrictions
Only the entry in one category by film will be validated, and who submits is free to choose the category of registration, however, the final decision will be taken by the Organization Committee.
The official languages of the Festival will be Portuguese and English. Therefore films should have English or Portuguese subtitles.
FFA does not require World Première, but we will welcome and pay special attention to films which have never been screened, at least in Portugal.
The entry must be duly legalized regarding Copyrights.
The 2017 selection will be announced on 30th June.
The Figueira Film Art subsidizes the expenses of the director or his representative, while staying in Figueira da Foz
General Agreement- Participation in Figueira Film Art -2017
I have read and accept the rules and terms of FFA 2017. I am willing to provide the festival all necessary information in accordance with these rules and terms. I authorize the organization of the FFA 2017 to show my film, and if selected, I confirm that a screening copy will be available in digital format for screening during the FFA in 2017 to 15th July. I certify that I own all rights to the presentation of this film / video for the FFA 2017 and that all rights and authorizations have been obtained. This film is not subject to any dispute, or is threatened by any litigation, assuming all legal responsibilities. By agreeing to these terms, I transfer to the FFA in 2017 the right to use excerpts of the submitted film and its images, for advertising and marketing Figueira Film Art in 2017, and other non-commercial purposes related to the promotion of the edition 2017 and the projection of the same from 28 August to 3 September 2017.
